Found a new great way to use milkdrop in 3d READ THIS NOW!!!!

Switch the left eye lens color to white and the right eye lens color to a medium to dark grey. Now for glasses you can use the "Tv Glasses" which are dark in one eye and clear on the other or do what I did and use old sunglasses and take out the lens in the left eye. So now you have sunglasses that a dark lens in the right eye and a hole in the left with the colors set right it should be in 3d :) any questions feel free to im me in aim my names is hippieraver42o

and btw yes this DOES have full range of color ;) im still playing with it, Now im seeing what happens with the line seperation this thing is fucking awesome!

Make sure you look through the presets, some are fucking awesome like the spiral one's (like ones with depth) but cheesy ones like a wiggling line don't don't do much at all. Look through em trust me ;)

This is VERY trippy :D and WELL worth trying. It took me about an hour to get to work properly, so here's a quick how to, to set it up:

In the config window for MilkDrop click on the 'More Options' tab. Click the 'Set Left Eye Lense Color' button and select white as your colour. Then click 'Set Right Eye Lense Color' and for a good dark grey set the red, green & blue values to 100.

Start Milkdrop and run in Fullscreen (you can see the effect best in Fullscreen). Hit ScrLk (to stop the preset from changing), then hit 'L', select the '3d' directory, using the arrow keys then hit 'Return' to change to that directory. Select 'Geiss - 3D - Oozing Mass' and hit 'Return' to load that preset. Hit 'Esc' to close the preset menu. Finally hit F9 to turn OFF the 3D effect (only do this with the 3D presets, as they don't require this function to be switched on, as it's build into the them, but is needed for ALL other presets).

Take your trusty pair of sunglasses and cover your right eye with one of the lenses. You might need to stare at the preset for a good few seconds before the effect takes hold.

Here are a few presets that are worth checkin out:

Remember to Hit F9 to turn 3D mode on for these presets:

Also you can use Ctrl F9 & Shift F9 to change the spacing between the two images (1 image for each eye). Generally I've found you can leave this alone, but for some presets e.g. Rovastar Multiverse Starfield 3 you might need to tweak it a little to get the full effect.

Thanks for bumping that. The 3D mode has gone with milkdrop 2 but yes, I can confirm the trick works to a certain degree for me. Surprising. Not too exciting but there is definitely an effect. I assume this is because the speed of the eye's perception depends on the brightness. The covered eye sees a slightly delayed image, and since there is movement, the actual image has a small x-y-displacement to the delayed one. This makes the 3D effect.
Which would mean the trick cannot work for static images, and in fact it doesn't (at least for me) when I stop the animation.
