Since today (could be rc10, but that would surprise me) I heard that all my music (well, the rock ones mostly) contain this crunching noise, which is really irritating My settings are exactly the same as before, and then I didn't have this problem.
Second (while I'm at it), after 10 seconds or so on some Internet TV channels the sound gets knocked to the background and a loud errm, can't think of the word (u know, the sounds you get with the snow on TV :p)
Anyone?

i get the internet tv thing with rc8 and rc10 (i didnt do the other rcs or betas)
im assuming the cause is a buffer underrun for the stream. super annoying though cuz its like "hey lois...." crackle crackle crackle
and then i have to restart the stream even if the crackle stops because the sound isnt synced.
with your first problem, im not 100 percent sure what your talking about. when does the crunch happen in the file? during a bassy part?
your audio file crunching might be due to over extending your bass.
I get this playing songs super loud with bass turned up. Check eq settings or any dsp plugins, or the creative sound mixer if you use it(it what i have for my sblive). try lowering the bass. i dont know why it would be different in the rc if you havent touched it though.

It aren't my DSP settings. Nothing has changed. :'(

Are you using ANY dsp/fx plugin? If so, disable it whilst watching Internet TV.
Apart from that, if you require any further help,
then there's absolutely nothing we can do unless you provide all relevant system specs and info, eg.
PC or motherboard make/model
cpu & ram
sound card/chip
graphics card/chip
Windows OS
DirectX version
Internet connection type & speed
A list of any 3rd-party Winamp plugins installed
Which output plugin is currently active,
and whether the problem occurs with both WaveOut and DirectSound.
Whether the problem occurs with the EQ both on and off.
A list of concurrently running programs/processes.
Anything else which might help us to help you

No DSP settings. I recently switched my SOUNDMAN.exe to Low to get a bit rid of the crunching noise though.
'nyway.
P4 2.66GhZ
512 DDR 400
9600 Pro All-In Wonder
AC '97 sound (prob get an Audigy in place, but as I thought this was the problem, I repeat, it wasn't before)
Front sound goes speakers, Back sound (as an amplifier) goes to PC speakers, but that's off now.
DirectX 9.0b
Windows XP Home SP1
Cable connection 12mbit
DoSomething plug-in, Enhancer, Profile Manager, Milkdrop installed. (Enhancer off, DoSomething off, Milkdrop off)
DirectSound output (no difference with WaveOut)
Also running: MSN Messenger, Miranda IM, Mozilla 1.6b, AVG Pro, ZoneAlarm Pro.
All latest patches.

That helps me a bunch. Thanks.
"Disable dsp on video stream" would make a great winamp option.

Sounds to me like you're just overloading your amp. (Amplifier that is, not WinAMP) Are you sure you haven't set any gain/volume settings in your soundcard driver higher than they were or something?
Also.. Du you get the "crunching noise" in other sound playing applications as well? (Games etc.)
Anyway... If turning the volume down in the sound manager helps, well there you go!

Nope, I only get the sound in WinAMP (not that music is such featured in games).
But anyway, it's gone now, strange >_> Maybe my PC needed a night rest.
