IMHO, That's the problem with big screen movies on basic cable. The damn censors edit out all the hardcore cusswords. Personally, I think that whether or not you wanna hear a lot of cussing in a movie, if there is cussing, it just makes the movie flow better just to let the actor say the word rather than have censors have it dubbed over or blanked out.
The same goes for comedy specials. I was gonna watch Chris Rock's Bigger & Blacker (probably originally on HBO) on Comedy Central, and when he said the first F word, those shitty-ass censors BLEEEEEPED it, so I switched over to watch a little Power Fuse.
TV censors have too much damn power.

I just watched Bringing Out The Dead (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0163988/). It's much better than the 6.9 average points on imdb or the 2½ stars it's given on Allmovie. Actually it's one of N. Cage's better performances: pretty absurd, sometimes with even pythonesque humour. Everybody say it's too much like the old fashioned "taxi driver" New York, lately seen in max payne, but i think it worked pretty well.

Songs from the second floor (http://imdb.com/title/tt0120263/)/Sånger från andra våningen (2000). It's a swedish movie, and it's fantastic. It's about the western society of today, told with an almost static camera in different scenes, without having any main character. We watched it in my philosophy-class as a contrast to Chaplin's modern times, and if you want a movie with dark and highly relevant humour, watch this!

In cinema yesterday:
Collateral (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collateral_%28movie%29).
Somewhat OK, funny in some places and interesting (although not very stunning) dialog. The film also features Too Many Closeups, Too Obvious TV-series-like Tempo Change, and let's not forget that Cruise's dyed hair looks quite silly.
On TV tonight: Office Space (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_Space)

The last movie I saw in the theater was "THE AVIATOR"... Flat-out LOVED it!
The last movie I saw on DVD was "The House on Haunted Hill"... the 1958 original with Vincent Price, that made me giggle with delicious terror when I was 8. I recently bought a box of 12 two sided DVDs at Big Lots for 20 bucks... filled with FIFTY Classic Horror movies... Incredbible old black-and-white classics like Dementia 13, White Zombie, Maniac, Night of the Living Dead, Little Shop of Horrors, Carnival of Souls, The Brain that Would Not Die, etc. Even a few silents like Metropolis, Nosferatu, and the Phantom of the Opera... what a find!

I get opinions about movies before I see it, but not from critiques but from friends so I can make sure that none of the storyline is given away.
I have friends with very similar movie tastes which make it very likely that if they liked a movie I'll like it as well - with exceptions of course. Apart from that, everytime I hear people voicing strongly against a movie, I'll go see it anyway to make up my own mind.
Now you probably ask yourself why I need others to decide which movie to go to? There are tons out there and one movie ticket is $16 over here. Yes, that makes you think twice about which movie to see and makes you get information beforehand ;)
I recommend the downfall by the way although the critics of the NY Times supposedly said it was very bad. I really liked that movie and I'd love for it to get the Academy award for the best foreign movie.

I don't like movie theaters, so I don't have that problem. I either buy it on DVD, or just wait until it comes on one of my movie channels.

I can usually buy new unopened DVDs @ the Amazon.com Marketplace for an average of about $12, and if I can, I get the widescreen (http://www.thedigitalbits.com/articles/anamorphic/aspectratios/widescreenorama.html) version, which looks pretty good on my TV, I don't really notice the black bars on the top and bottom of the film.
Also, when you own a movie on DVD, you can watch it over and over w/o having to pay the ticket price every time; and you also have it in your collection long after it's no longer in the movie theaters.
And what about special editions, extended cuts, and director's cuts...Making Of's, outtakes, commentaries, etc. Stuff that's not shown in theathers. A good example of an extended trilogy is LOTR.
I also just like to watch movies in the comfort of my home.
Mrs_Mia_Wallace

It's not that I don't own any DVD's, I sometimes buy one - but only if I really liked the movie and want to watch it over and over again if you mentioned. But in order to find out if I like a movie, I need to watch it first and not buy the DVD (with shipping and handling being $8 if I want to have it in about 2 weeks plus not to mention taxes and import fees from amazon.com) which is way more expensive.
When I am certain that I will enjoy a movie I will go with my friends and see it in theaters, if I'm not sure I'll rent it on DVD and watch it at home on my small TV, if I really like a movie after seeing it, I might get the DVD (but I only own about 15 altogether) :)
I don't care about commentaries and making of's. They ruin most of the movies for me. I wish I had never read an overanalytical essay about Donnie Darko :(
Saw Constantine tonight, it was better than I expected it to be and made me have a cigarette craving :p Lu was portrayed very well, same as Gabe, the actress did a nice job there
