First photo manip try - opinions please!

Hey everybody,

I have visited this section often and have seen great drawings and graphical arts in here but I never dared to submit any drawings since a. I really suck and b. I don't have a scanner.

Now this is my first try in photo manipulation and generally changing colors etc. I've never done this before and I really don't know that much about Computers so please don't be too harsh on your opinion, productive criticism is always welcome though!

I used Microsoft PictureIt as editing program but I have recently gotten Photoshop 7 (I'll install it today) and would like to know if anyone could tell me how I should start in learning to manip picutres and maybe doing sometihng that comes close to art with them. I mean, I can always mess around and do things but is there a way to start where you can really learn some basics and nice tricks?

Well, here's my first photo manip, sorry that it's a pic of me but I don't have much other on my PC plus I don't want to put someone elses pic on the net without asking either.
