I'm looking for a converter from mpeg, avi, asf, wmv, and if possible others like real and quicktime to vcd, svcd. Preferably a free one.

If you want to get asf, wmv etc. (everything you can play via DirectShow) into VirtualDub you also need Avisynth (www.avisynth.org).

Just write a text file like DirectShowSource("yourfile")
save it with .avs extension and open it with VirtualDub.
