Hey people...
I am wondering if there are applications/plugins that:
1) Analyze MP3 files and based on some large Internet database put in the CORRECT ID3 Tag information.
2) Actively create a re-mix of music throught a playlist that are of the same genre. Ya know, like the radio stations do? It gives you allot of variety while not making you listen to a full song...
Thanks for any assistance

1. There are many many ID3 tagging programs that will use CDDB/FreeDB to look up that sort of thing. I like ID3-Tagit.
2. Create a new query in the Media Library whose criterion is "genre has rock".

Thanks but I am not sure that that #2 you provided is what I am looking for exactly. I'm talking about a plugin the mixes the music live, not creates a playlist of music. but mixes similar titles togerther seemlessly.
Also, that proggie you suggested was ok, but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something that can do individual MP3's correctly, this program you suggested needs me to have all the songs from the album in the correct order and such...
I'll try to search myself but I could use some suggestions.

Do you realize the incredible complexity that it would take to program such features?
I do remember hearing about a service that will identify songs by uploaded clips. Think it had something to do with a portable MP3 player/recorder... Anybody else know what I'm talking about?
When you find a program that can perfectly mix tracks from the same genre, be sure to call me. Won't need those antiquated "DJs" anymore, or the folks who actually run the radio station's sound boards.

Use Musicbrainz. I can't remember the addy but run a search in yahoo and you should find it. It's been very accurate on the files I've run through it.

Re, ID3 tagger,
There's a plugin called MEXP which can do (partialy?) what you want.
It can search FreeDB based on minimal info (artist name/album name) and give you a list of possible CD's to choose from. When you select a CD, it displays the track info for that CD and can auto order your selected MP3(s) based on their timestamps. This works with as few or as many MP3s as you like.
It can also save a lot more of the CDDB/FreeDB information into ID3 than most programs i've seen (eg: genre, comments, track numbers etc)
Coincidentally, it also happens to be an awesome media library replacement as well =)
