i heard this morning that yesterday in Boston it was colder than on mars. They said there is an ice company that has the coolers set at 15 degres F. The people would actually go in there in order to warm up. If i remember right they said it was 30 degrees warmer than outside without the wind chill factor

I could go outside in my underwear and do cartwheels if I wanted to.

An Arctic front buffeting the north-eastern United States is forcing temperatures in some parts down to a 50-year low.

In New York, pedestrians are being warned that skin can freeze in under 30 minutes. Several means of transport have also been affected.

A hiker has been found dead in New Hampshire's White Mountains.

Ferries taking commuters from New Jersey to New York City were iced in. Two New York airports, LaGuardia and Newark Liberty, reported more than 200 flights cancelled.

Damn cold. I worked as a roofer in Denamrk in conditions like this, many years ago. The diesel fuel froze in the forklift trucks. I still have a patch of numb skin on one of my legs from frostbite.

Take care you guys.

I had to move my truck yesterday night cause the school was plowing (I live a bit east of central PA). At a dead stop, I tried to shift back into first. took about 6 tries and a good deal of force to get the gear to engage. (remember this is a truck we're talking about, there's about 3" of throw between neutral and a gear)
also took 3 tries to get the (electric shift) 4WD to engage.

35F was the high today...It's supposed to dip down to the high-20's tomorrow...

Last night in some places of Louisville, you could throw water on a window and it would instantly freeze...On average around here for this winter season, that's severly cold! :igor:

You're right
It is so very cold here
So much colder than any place I've ever known
Used to coming home to warmth
You find yourself coming home to irregularity
Odd faces, strange behaviours
Is it you, or is everyone else crazy?
You're right, it is damn cold here...

That being said, it's warming up here. No snow here. Nyah-nyah.

If it's gonna be cold, I'd rather it to snow, so that it'd actually feel like it's a normal, cold winter season with some nice scenery, and not some below-freezing, grey sky, gloomy day... :/

Am I lucky I live in a part of Ireland that generally gets slamed with the Gulf Stream hitting the coast. keeps the temp up a little bit ..though it did snow the other day....

Sorry to rub it in, hon, but Thursday I drove to Atlanta and back with the windows down and sunroof open because it got too hot in the car with them closed. Yesterday was a little cooler, but barely.

I'll try to send some of this warm Georgia weather to ya! (At least in spirit.)

Yeah, but I don't have to worry about earthquakes, or mudslides, or forest fires....=P

(I don't really know if any or all of that applies to San Diego though..)
