Hey everybody,

Since I have just seen it this weekend I thought it was time that I started a thread about it since everyone I talked to about it seemed to have a pretty strong opinion on it, either they loved it or thought it was one of the worst movies that they have ever seen...I am one of the first group :D Yes the movie was stupid and had no real plot but everyone needs a little entertainment once in a while and I liked the look of the characters and loved the songs!

So, what do you think abou thtat movie? Did you love it, hate it or couldn't care less? What is your favorite song in it? Do you think it is a must have seen movie for that aera or is it plain overrated? Would you go to the Rocky Horror Show in (real not movie) theaters?

Well, I'm looking forward to your opinions, and LETS DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN!

Mia:)

I know that there has been a thread about RHPS in GD before but it was only about if you have seen it in real theaters and it only contained a few posts so I thought the movie forum needed a shiny new one ;)

Heheee, you're not serios though are you? :weird: (I have to ask since I actually have male friends who occasionally almost dress up in a way like Frank n. Furter)

Velvet panties are great too

But back on topic...what do you others think abou this movie?

I thought it was OK. I am not a mad fan like Mrs B is, but c'est la vie.

Fan for what seems like forever, went to a showing at a cinema in town that was due to be demolished to make way for a new shopping complex RHS was the last film to be shown before the doors closed for good, so they made a bit of an event out of it, people dressed up, they decorated the interior of the cinema in RHS style, had all the staff dressed as party guest and generally had a whale of a time, no I'm not saying what I went as ;)

After the show, they pretty much said tear the place up , so seats got slashed, screen got slashed and the place got generally junked, what a way to go out :)

Have a copy at home on super deluxe DVD, which I've watched on a number of occasions, as a hidden easter egg kind of thing it lets you play the movie in it's original format, or how Richard O'Brien wanted to shoot it, which is with a B&W into, basically the film plays as normal, except the first 10 minutes or so are in B&W, right up to the point where Riff Raff flings open the door and everyone starts doing the time warp, it was supposed to be a tribute to Wizard of Oz, that was in B&W right up until Dorothy wakes up in Oz, it works really well, so if you have a copy of the DVD , search out the easter egg and give it a whirl, it's certainly on the American version which I have, not sure about European ones.

The DVD I have also has two version of the film, a UK and US version, with the UK one having an extra song in it somewhere, or maybe it's the other way around, I can't recall right now.

Never seen a live stage show, but I'm sure one day I'll get around to it....

Fave bits?, Franks entrance is just great, one of the greatest cinema entrances know, and don't you think he has great legs, if I were that way inclined.......:D

The main actor today is fat and old and played a comedic villian in most movies. But when I first saw RHS, and my stepdad pointed that its the same person. I was shocked. Who could ever forget those red lips and fishnet stockings..

I think it was more of a pioneering stage for transvestite wannabes since the movie was made in the 70's and it wasn't all that popular...

Wow Jones, this really sounded like a great event, I wish I could have been there! But PLEASE tell us who you did dress up as!!! (come on, it doesn't matter which person you mention, it's all equally embarassing ;) ) I always wanted to do a RHPS party where people had to dress up for it but all of my friends either don't like it, don't know it or don't want to dress up... :( Wait a minute, that gives me an idea for the forum meeting! :p

 Sounds like you had a really great time!

You won't believe what I have found out today...I just walked down the streets of Zurich and saw a poster that said the Rocky Horror Show (the theater piece) will be played in Zurich March 29!!! Of course I MUST go there, the only problem is to find someone to go with me, my boyfriend would love to but he needs to be in school (which is 3 hours by train away) the next morning :( ...he'll still try though, he's the only one I knows that would come with me and dress up as well. I'll post pictures of course when the time has come :D In case he can't...Jones, mind a short trip to Switzerland to do the time warp again? ;)

It's an alright film, I have seen better of course, but it's a good one to watch when I need a laugh, or just to see Meatloaf dead.

Well, what can I say I just came back from seeing hte Rocky Horror Show on stage in Zurich and it was truly AWESOME! It was an incredible show and I just had a really great time, went with a girlfriend of mine from Uni who unfortunately didn't drees up (I did halfway, just fishnets and lace up boots and red lipstick and shocking eye makeup, whatever I could find in my closet ;) ) but the Swiss audience was good in participating - I still have to get the rest of the rice out of my hair! :D

I wanted to take pictures but the battery of my camera was low so I don't know if they all turned out (damn, if I already had my pay I'd have the digital one by now :( )

Anyway, I enjoyed myself thoroughly and I'll definitely go again the next time they come aroung here!

Until then I'll try to get a more perfect costume and train the TIME WARP dance! :p

Mia:)
