Is Britney a New Bond Girl?
Feb 4, 9:08 AM EST
Associated Press
Britney Spears looks good in skimpy clothes. But can she match wits and brawn with Pierce Brosnan's 007? The television show "Extra" reports Spears recently met in London with the producers of the James Bond movies.
"Extra" says it was Spears who requested the meeting.
If Spears were to play a Bond girl, she'd be in good company. Other celebrities who have appeared in the franchise include Ursula Andress, Jane Seymour, Denise Richards and Halle Berry.
Meanwhile, Spears' official Web site says she has signed on to produce and star in an adaptation of author Tobi Tobin's "Door to Door," in which she will play a teenager trying to catch her big break in Hollywood.
Spears' first acting role came in "Crossroads" two years ago, playing a shy high school valedictorian who embarks on a road trip with friends.
Oh god, if they wanted to kill off the Bond series, they sure found the right way to do it:igor:

I agree, I found it already bad when Halle Berry played the Bond girl...in my opinion, the Bond girls in the 60s and 70s had more class and were way better....well the Bond movies themselves were too...
I can't imagine Britney Spears having a witty conversation containing double meanings with Pierce Bosnan, it's plain ridiculous :(

Oh yea, and then let Robbie Williams play Bond as he so dearly want's. If the 007 series are going to die, it might as well go out with a BANG!
did that make sense?

In fact, the James Bond franchise died in the mid 80s, when Roger Moore quit. Then, they just filled the gap with lame actors and the series became just a pretext for releasing tepid unpersonal action movies.

Has anyone read any of the Bond books? I've heard they are quite different from the movies.
Example being that I heard Bond is kinda an antihero in the books. A racist, womanizing jackass who is put up with because he is good at espionage and thwarting the enemies of the free world.

Never read any but from what I know, the first Bond films were pretty faithful to the books and Bond as played by Sean Connery is pretty much what you describe. When Moore took over the part, he played it differently, adding offbeat humour. Then, as I said, the franchise fell part when he left :D

Yup, after Roger Moore, the whole franchise just went to shit.
@Cylob: Are you happy to hopefully see Britney nekkid or that the series would be killed after she "acts" in it?

I don't know, well no denying that George Lanzeby and Timothy Dalton are crap, but i think Pierce Brosnan does a good job....

I never really liked Roger Moore as Bond. Goldeneye rocked. Pierce Brosnan is a good Bond, but with crap films. Halle Berry is a whore. Britney should be shot. Timothy Dalton was kinda cool. The Bond movies couldnt go on forever. Saying they would is like saying George Lucas will realise that Star Wars sucks ass now. They have to die, and it seems that it could happen sooner than we thought. :p if that made no sense, im tired. :p

Of all the blonde pop stars out there I wouldn't mind having Spears as a Bond girl. Imagine Jessica Simpson as one or Aguilera!
I still miss the old bond..especially Sean Connery.

The last decent Bond film was Goldeneye which I really like. This is probably bolstered by the fact that the game on the N64 was just SO goddamn similar it wasn't true. good film, good game and a very hot girl. Dr Christmas (I forget who) was the last hot bond girl. Halle Berry does nothing for me, I think she's pretty ugly, and Lois Lane too is ugly.

Ugly? So you'd say 'no' would you? :blah:

If Britney was to play a Bond girl, it would be fun to have the evil Bond girl played by one of her rivals :D

They effectively killed the series by putting Hale Berry in a starring role. Never before have they used such a mega star as a Bond girl, and basically she stole the show... or at least tried. And I've heard they're working on a spin-off starring her character. To me, that's instant death to the series.
James Bond, you have officially jumped the shark.

I agree. Casting a superstar as a Bond girl was a bad move. Halle Berry is hot, but she doesn't have the "Bond girl" look at all, and I really didn't like her role in Die Another Day.

Actually it went to shit after Sean Connery left. :(
I only look at the newer versions for the toys.
Hopefully they will make Britney body number 6 in the show.
