I am using Nicecast to stream from iTunes to a Shoutcast server running on Mac OS X (everything is running on OS X).
Everything works great except that the song title is not showing up in the Current Song field or the Now Playing field. The song title is showing up correctly in Nicecast (which means it is receiving it from iTunes).
Is there an option I need to enable in the sc_serv.conf? What type of ID3 tags need to be on my mp3s?
Thanks.

Have you tried e-mailing the people from nicecast and asking them???

No, it doesn't seem to be a Nicecast issue to me -- Nicecast is receiving the track titles from iTunes and says it is sending them along with the stream to the ShoutCast server...I was hoping that answers to my 2 questions above might help solve the problem...

Did you find your station in the Shoutcast directory at all, or just without the song titles?

Yes, my station was listed, but the song titles are missing.

But I am using shoutcast...?
Is there somewhere anyone knows of where I can see all the options available in the sc_serv.conf file? I know they are not all listed in the commented version that I downloaded (because a friend of mine clued me in to at least one that is not in there).

Well then if you are using shoutcast, in the DSP, under the ouput tab, click the boxed for Title Updates, and set both title and url on Auto. Hope this helps :)

To clarify--I am using Shoutcast server, not the shoutcast plugin for winamp.
I am not sure what the "DSP" is.
Thanks for your help.
If anyone can answer any of the specific questions I asked, I'd be grateful.
Thanks.

Are you absolutely positive the MP3 tags are getting sent from the source (nicecast) to the server (SHOUTcast DNAS)?
No song info in the DNAS means the song info isn't getting to the DNAS.
Has anyone else using nicecast experienced no song titles?

No I'm not sure, all I am sure of is that Nicecast has the song title info and says that it is sending it to the SHOUTcast DNAS.
How can I check?
One thing I didn't mention - 3 out of the 20 or so times I've launched the SC server, the song titles have been displayed. I can't figure out if the mp3s I was playing at those times had different ID3 tags, or if there is an option I had set differently in the sc_serv.conf file (I had been playing with the options a lot around that time)...which is why I was asking about those things.

The DNAS doesn't handle any song info stuff.
If song info is passed to it, then it passes it to the listener.
Contact the Nicecast folks.

Mine shows up fine. Are you using the latest iTunes and Nicecast? Only problem I have is on macstream because I'm serving via SC and not the built in server my user count shows (n/a). But, everything looks perfect on SC's yellow pages. So thats cool with me :D

I'm actually using a remote Icecast 2 server now, so I'm not trying to figure out this problem anymore. FYI - I was using the most recent versions of Nicecast and iTunes. I don't know what was up...
