It didn't fix direct sound cus it didn't work anymore after the upgrade
It didn't fix the modern skin deformation when resized to anything under 100%
It didn't stop the vis window poping up every time in minmized state with desktop overlay enabled
(btw will we ever get a option to hide the vis window in that mode)
it didn't fix all the ghost windows show when started in modern skin they disappear but its ugly to see those everytime
(perhaps it would be better to have a 2.9 skin plugin and modern skin as the default skin mode ?)
It did corrupt my sound drivers
it did crash my computer (which BTW never ever happened to me ever with winamp till now)
and reinstalling 5.01 caused winamp to never work again til I did a clean install of 5.01 and deleted (lost) every setting and media library
so my only other question is ?
see topic LoL
however the clean install was a success BTW he he

huh? what you talking about dude? :weird:
Sorry, but I/we can't reproduce any of the things you've mentioned.
Heh. Not even sure if I understand half of them.
DirectSound doesn't work?
It corrupted your sound drivers?
Bleh! Come off it! :p :blah: ;)

Never mind about the drivers and crash it was caused by faulty memory sorry :(
but I do have ghost like image of the regular win amp interface show at startup every time it starts while switching over to modern skin and also every time I try to hide the vis window in desktop overlay mode of the vis it keeps showing up again at random spots on the desktop (vis window unattached BTW) it would be nice just like you can suppress the title text etc to also be able to hide the vis window completely
hope this was better and you understand what I mean
I reinstalled 5.02 and have no other problems anymore (yet lol)
yeah and when you resize modern skins in winshade mode to less than 100% you get white corners at the edges (see attachment in next reply)

The ghosting is hard to capture as it only happens for a moment while Winamp is busy...but I get it too. It's something I personally can live with, I chalk it up to my lousy video card and relatively slow laptop.
The resizing glitch is easy to reproduce (here anyway). Set your main window (modern skin) to winshade mode and have a dark (solid black is good) background, then use the custom resize dialog slider and move it around 75%-99% a bit and observe what happens to the upper left hand corner of the main window shade. Some percentages are worse than others; it's also visible around the 151-174% range, but to a much lesser extent. It's been awhile since I've skinned, but I believe this must be due to the alpha mask and the actual skin bitmaps being resized somehow in slightly different ways....DO NOT QUOTE me on that...;)...I could be totally wrong as to why it happens.

yeah i don't use 5.02 due too it breaking support for my favorite skins.
i think that since they broke old WA3 skin suport (for some skins) they should just make a WA5 skin list with WA5 skins.
oh well, still on WA 5.01 too, nothing new i really really need, might upgrade when 5.05 comes out :D

indeed the ghosting is hard to capture but the edges can be seen in the jpg I posted not a major thing but with a dark background noticable more than other lighter backgrounds
Kx drivers (http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/) (Sound Blaster) fixed the sound problems and they support 2d/3d Direct Sound now fully it seems (only not full 5.1 support still)
woowooo bye creative crap
rear speaker output used for better sound quality (http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/rear.php?language=en)
