Greetings:

Just installed Winamp 5.02 Pro.

Wanted to burn a CD-R while converting some MP3's to WAV. All that Winamp is seeing is my first optical drive, a DVD reader.

It does not see my CD burner, or my two DVD burners.

All my other applications see them and use them without any problems. The two DVD burners are a Lite-On 811 and a Sony DRU-510A. The CD burner is also a Lite-On model.

Just to see that Winamp Pro features were working, I just ripped a CD from the only drive that it, Winamp sees. All went well without any problems.

Any ideas where to look for help ?

Thanks in advance.

Hmm. That's strange.
What's your Windows OS?
Have you rebooted since installing Winamp?
And you definitely didn't uncheck "Sonic Burning/Ripping Support" during installation?

DJ:

I am currently running Windows XP Professional 2002 Version, Service Pack 1.

And yes, I have re-booted quite a few times.

I even went out to see if I had the newest drivers for my drives, which I did.

I then completely de-installed and installed V5.01, then even de-installed and went to 5.0. All to no avail.

I did notice something different under 5.01 & 5.0 versus 5.02. Rip time to create MP3's was substanially faster under 5.01 & 5.00.

As to machine, I am running an AMD 3200+ on an ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe MOBO, with 1G of Corsair 3200 memory. I have 5 drives with about 580G of disk storage available to me.

Nero and Roxio has no problems recognizing my drives and burning to them.

Winamp is such a good player, I am even willing to create the WAV files to Hard Disk, since I have plenty, and then use Roxio or Nero to burn my CD's.

But it would be so durn convenient to burn them in the same program.

Any suggestions to what I should try ?

Thanks for your help.
