Say i rent a shoutcast server from
b2netsolutions.com and i go to stream my music with the music still on my cpu from Sam2 or winamp.. What kind of a connection would I need to have an awesome stream with no skipping or buffering.. or does this not matter since the shoutcast server is hosted on a fast line from b2netsolutions?

Firstly, your topic doesn't correspond with your questions at all. Secondly, why not just stream from your computer? Unless you are planning to take this seriously and perhaps make a little money, I would just run my own server (like I am now). It's cheaper.
Since you don't even know what a good upstream speed is to service X amount of people, I take it you haven't taken a seriously look at this yet.
Regardless, go Google your question. Much faster...

A. His ISP might not allow him to run a Shoutcast server and/or he doesn't have the proper equipment.
B. As he is discussing streaming for Shoutcast, let's keep him on the Shoutcast forums...
Anyways, I stream at 32kbs/second MONO and it sound alright. The higher you get, the more dial-up users will be excluded. You could, always, set up two DNAS' for different stream rates.
