View Full Version : Where is this infamous "config panel"?

I've read every faq I can find, and I've searched this whole board, and can find nothing on where the "config panel" is. All the faq's say to change the resolution you go to the config panel. Where? When I search on this baord, I find, "When I go to the config panel, I only see such and such resolutions available." That's it--nothing on where it is.

I just want to change the fullscreen resolution of the MilkDrop plugin because my processor is only 1ghz and 1024x768 slows it to below 15fps, and I can only find the screen brought up by right clicking inside of the part of the window that shows the time, but not on the time itself or another menu will appear, and selecting "configure plugin" or with alt-k or f1 or right clicking and selecting "show help", and it just tells me how to go fullscreen with alt-enter: That's quite a rediculous variety of ways just to select an option that shows a limited keyboard shortcut menu and tells me to look at milkdrop.html.

When I do look at that milkdrop.html, it says to change the resolution I should go to the config panel.

Where is it? There's a hole in the bucket dear Liza over and over again when I try to use available faq's.

? I am confused.

You are trying to selct teh config panel for MilKDrop. Yes.

When it is not running select config plugin. In classic winamp skin right click onteh spectrum analyser and selct configure plugin and a config box appears.

I dunno but I suspect the AVS plugin is in here somewhere and you are trying to configure that.

I am lost as AVS is more complected to get the config menu and it sound a bit like you are using AVS. AVS has many people asking how to configure it but you are teh first in like 3 years not to find teh cofig option.

Well--that was easy.

They should SAY SOMEWHERE that you can't have it running. SOMEWHERE.

Why do they bother showing a help menu when you select configure when it IS running? Configure should not do the same thing as help! That very screen should at least say that you need to have it off to configure it. Or better yet, when you select configure--what a concept--it should quit the visualization and go to the configuration screen.

Oh well. The visuals on this are great! Thanks for the help.

In case people were wondering why I didn't try turning it off--out of all the programs I've used (this is the first exception), especially if I take into account all the emulators I use, it either lets you configure on the fly (that's rare though), has the option greyed out if you can't do it, or, the most often, it lets you configure it but says the changes will take effect when the whatever-it-is is restarted: It never decides to do a completely different option instead. When I select configure when MilkDrop visualization is on, it does something completely different than what it's labeled as. I'm still trying to figure why configure = HELP, and how nobody has been confused by it until me.

Winamp is different than other players in every way--sometimes this is a double-edged sword, but that's the way all good things seem to come--even the way it does its main menu as a right click in specified areas instead of a standard horizontal menu on top.

Let me again say--the visuals on MilkDrop are GREAT! They're absolutely the best I've ever seen! Period!

That's funny - if I select configure while MD is running, I get a box that says ERROR: MilkDrop is already running.

I would have thought that this would tip you off - do you not get this error?
