In order to have this in one place, I decided to start a thread for Computer Generated Art. This includes, but is not limited to, Vector Art, Computer Enhanced Drawings, etc....

I'll start...

I was messing around with a picture of a city, New York I think it was, and this is what I came up with:

another attempt at pseudo-vector art:
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/8135736/

It's amusing how stingy the devart submission category policies have become:
Vector art consists of creating paths and points in a program such as Illustrator, Freehand, Corel Draw, and Flash. These programs keep track of the relationships between these points and paths. Every time the image is scaled, the paths are regenerated: this creates images that are infinitely scalable without degradation. Images created in raster-based programs or images that have been filtered to resemble vector-based art should not be placed here. Deviations that do not meet these requirements will be removed without notice. Place those images in the appropriate Digital Art section to avoid this.

I don't have fluorescent lamps or even a backdrop, so I just moved the thing from the livingroom to the kitchen where there's large windows.

After lassoing out the ottoman, the reflection was the real work done here. The angles were messed up entirely. I ended up repainting nearly 50 percent of it.

I was trying to make it look as though it was shot in a studio with a plastic floor.

Was made as a random load image for www.cleanup.tk

n00b question imminent:

Can someone define Vector Art for me please, and tell me something about it?

Thanks.

Basically, there are two methods of describing images: You can save the colour of each and every pixel, or you can save the shapes the image is made up of. Each shape has a set of characteristics (such as its colour, position or the kind of border it has). Shapes can be as simple as a circle or a square, or as complex as a series of connected points that make up the shape.

The primary advantage of vector graphics is that you can resize them without losing quality.

I saw some episodes of Family Guy recently and just wanted to try to make some vector graphics as well, so I took a screenshot and modelled the image after it.

At the risk of repeating something, What is Vector?
I've only recently been playing with layers, and still need alot of work.
I have been using paint shop pro and a little prog called Iphoto <<--(I learned on first).
On PBS there is a digital show that I have learned some of what I know, but he uses photo shop, which I am trying to aquire since some of the things that he teaches are not the same in PSP, such as using layers.
I like what you guys do, maybe I can learn something from you?
I'll login to Da later K?

I think it's cool that there are ppl here who go to Da. And I like that this POST is here.
I think I understand what you said, does it work with photos aswell? I'd like to learn more, if anyone cares to somewhat tutor me?

I am very new at this forum, and I seemed to have already ruffled some feathers, but I hope to possibly make a couple of friends here, at least ones who do art. So please bare with me, I don't want a negative rep. Or does anyone know of a smaller forum like this, that I don't need to worry about searching EVERYTHING before I post.

Indeed it is.

A lot of the brushed metal, futuristic-looking skins are eyecatching, but they're also a bit bulky and hog up more than their share of desktop space.

A logo I did for my Visual Resources class. Basically the class is like a design firm. We have real clients that we design for and each student (or group of students, depending on the project scope) presents their design to the client and then the client has to choose one.
