Hello, i'm thinking of creating my own online radio station, its already popular ( about 10 users listening now ) and i would like to make sure i'm doing legal here.

Do i buy a license or something to broadcast music, which the fee's go to the Artists etc?

if you stream music with copyrights on it - yes you need a license

if you stream independant groups and have an agreement with them or you have a talk radiostation you don't have to pay.

The rules/laws vary depending on the source location.

For folks in the U.S.A. (and others wanting a good read), try this for starters (http://www.shoutcast.com/download/broadcast.phtml#copyright).
