(Note, these modifications were made to Winamp3 Default Skin modified for Winamp 5) (http://www.fusionamp.com/Nullsoft_Skinz.htm#Winamp3_Default_Skin)

I was bored the past few days, so I decided to experiment with the default Winamp3 skin, so the first thing I did was make the player winshade stretchable, dockable and add a song ticker.(I also swapped the positions of the C-buttons and the vis/timer)

When I did that, I noticed that the main window was linked to the winshade, so I ended up making the main window horizontaly stretchable too:
http://www.sharemation.com/rellik/WD/WA3fun.gif

things I wish I could do:

for the stretchable winshade would be to add the volume control and seekbar from the EQ winshade so they reveal once the winshade stretches so far out; like on the Modern skin(like the Vis and ticker), but that would require coding which I royaly suck at. the AMP part of the winamp title would toggle the following: (A)always on top, (M)media library, (P) Playlist. unfortunatly I wasn't able to assign those actions to text elements, And I didn't want to create new graphics:hang:

To install these, I reccomend making a copy of the Winamp3 skin and renaming it, then replace the XML files I have included in the attachment

[edit] found a small bug relating to the WINAMP title text preventing access to the prev + play c-buttons in the winshade

Another thing I did was fix the colors for the listviews so they more closely matched the original Winamp3 color scheme instead of using the pledit.txt which only works for the playlist anyway(plus color themes dont affect the pledit.txt settings).

insert this gamma-presets.xml (it was refeenced in the skin.xml, but never seemed to exist anyway)into the XML folder and disable/remove the pledit.txt in the root of the skin

Nice work, but with the gamma preset you reinvented the wheel. The pledit.txt was put there so you can actually see the highlited selection, if you take it out, you can't see it at all or just barely depending on the theme.

did you try it? pledit.txt doesn't work for the Media library, but this does<elements>
<color id="wasabi.list.text" value="196,255,196" gammagroup="Text"/>
<color id="wasabi.window.text" value="196,255,196" gammagroup="Text"/>

<color id="wasabi.list.text.current" value="255,255,225" gammagroup="Text"/>

<color id="wasabi.list.text.selected.background" value="0,0,128" gammagroup="Text Backgrounds"/>
<color id="studio.list.item.focused" value="0,0,128" gammagroup="Text Backgrounds"/>
<color id="studio.list.item.selected" value="0,0,128" gammagroup="Text Backgrounds"/>

<color id="wasabi.list.text.selected" value="196,255,196" gammagroup="Text"/>
<color id="wasabi.list.text.selected.inactive" value="196,255,196" gammagroup="Text"/>
<color id="wasabi.list.column.background" value="102,102,102" gammagroup="Backgrounds"/>

</elements> wasabi.list.text.selected.background, studio.list.item.focused, and studio.list.item.selected are now blue which matches the original Winamp3 skin

Yes, I tried it. Who do you think put the pledit.txt in originally anyway? :p
The hi-liting always worked in the library, but not too good in the playlist in Winamp 5.

I kinda figured that;), anyway, my other complaint was that the color themes didn't change the pledit.txt colors. that's why I did it this way, so Rust could look like this:

there are actually gammavalues for the pledit in Winamp 5, just as there were in Winamp3.
There's no need for pledit.txt

wasabi.list.text.current is for example used for highlight in the pledit in Winamp 5.

You just gotta look a little for it..

Why stop at Always on Top, ML, and PL? Why not make it:

Erst(W)hile (I)nitiate/(I)nterrupt (N)ext (A)lways On Top (M)edia Library (P)laylist

yah, not many synonyms with "back" what have a W in them...

On an unrelated note... OINGO BOINGO! Danny Elfman is one of my favorite composers ever.
