Anyone have their ears pierced?

I've kinda wanted to get earrings for a bit now, but I didn't wanna get my ears pierced, so I went into claire's and found a small pair of spring clip hoops that I liked...

If you do it, I'll do it. I always wanted to get one of my ears pierced.

I've got my left ear pierced three times, my right ear pierced twice, my right eyebrow pierced, and my labret pierced (labret is right below your lower lip).

Is that stuff painful?

I would guess that poking holes in your body is painful, yes.

Ok, well let me rephrase the question. Is it like poking your self with a pin, or getting hit by a car on a morning jog?

Some of my friends say they didn't feel a thing. Others say it hurt badly enough to break them of the process, then couldn't talk for weeks (tongue/lip piercing) as a lingering infection played itself out.

Luck of the draw.

Your earlobe is quite thin, so I suppose there aren't very many nerves...I guess it wouldn't be very painful in the ear either way since the piercing hole is small anyway, in opposition to sticking a needle through your hand or something...

Ears and lips are two of the most sensitive parts of the body.

The only piercing I'm going to be doing is with a member of the opposite sex...

I got my ears pierced when I was 14 and it didn't hurt at all. It all depends on if you simply get your lobes pierced which will be done with some kind of pircing gun or get it on another part of the body where it has to be done with a needle (=usually more painful).

The worst thing at the piercing process was the loud clicking of the gun right at my ear which scared me for a second but it didn't hurt at all, let me assure you, the only thing I felt for a few hours after it was a slight pressure on the earlobes which was a little uncomfortable but not painful at all.

You should get them pierced if you want to wear earring, just remember to put disinfective stuff on it for a week or so to prevent infection but you should be fine.

Mia:)

not really luck, it's more the skill of the peircer, and then the peircee's responsibility to keep the area clean so it doesn't get infected.

I just reminded myself...It's not about getting your ears pierced in the first place to me, but more in your ear could get infected if you forget to disinfecte the area...I'm not one to be up for the maintenence task... :/

Not if the piercer has the first clue what they're doing.

Always get someone who works with proper blades - not a gun (although that's only really ears) or that plastic-tube stuff. That will hurt.

I don't want any piercings, they're not really my thing. Labrette piercings are cool, though.

My earlobes didn't hurt at all. The third piecrcing in my cartlidge in my left ear hurt for maybe a second or two when the needle was going through, but it didn't hurt that bad. Maybe just enough to make me flinch. My eyebrow piercing, I didn't feel any pain whatsoever. All I DID feel was the needle going through skin, which was an interesting expiecrience. My labrette hurt somewhat considering where it's being pierced through, but it only hurt for no more than a few seconds.

It was unusual to say the least getting used to eating with that thing in, but I'm used to it now, having it for about a year. I can pull the ball of the stud through my lip, just under the skin. I find it helps pass the time, and it's ammusing to freak people out.

I have two piercings on my right ear and one on my left. There was no pain at all. When I got my tattoo, that hurt a little bit, but not enough to make me not want another one.

I would look such a tit if I got anything pierced.

I just love to see people with their lower lip pierced way down by the gum. I think about how much fun they'll have 40 years from now when the skin is all stretched out and they want to drink something. LOL!

I don't have piercings, I really don't care about them, fore or aft. I would'nt mind having one, but it's all the same to me anyway.

What about them do you hate? Just piercing your ears in general (The way it looks, going through it all, etc.), or what?

I got my left ear pierced 8 years ago (when I was 28 yrs old). It was done by my wife at the time, Samantha, using an ice cube to numb my earlobe, then a silver stud earring with a sharp tip, the kind used in piercing guns to make the hole and fill it in one motion.

Even though she was very quick and accurate with it, it still hurt for a few minutes, but no longer than that. The ice cube hardly made a difference though...I probably could have passed on that part and still felt the same thing.

So I recommend to people wanting an earlobe piercing to get it done by someone with a piercing gun. Much faster, less painful and more sanitary (make sure the stud in the piercing gun is correctly sterilized).

(BTW, I haven't worn an earring for several years, but oddly the piercing has never grown over as many people's would. I can pull on my earlobe and still see through the hole.)

Then you definitely shouldn't get one. ;)
