I spent all last night researching the subject of sound enhancment for winamp via plugin. i downloaded many things, but not one of em was close to what i was looking for. Since i already know what sound I want, i thought id ask a question before looking further. I love itune's sound enhancer. if any of you know a winamp plugin that delivers simalar sound enhancment or even attempts to mimic itune's please tell me where i can get it. If there is no obvious choice out there i will keep looking.
Thanx for your time.

obviously im new at these forums :) so if i did something that bugs you, or is typical newb behavior ;) please dont flame! :D

Seeing since few if any people around here are actually willing to use iTunes you are going to have to explain "itunes sound enhancment."

Otherwise: DSP PLug-ins (http://www.winamp.com/plugins/browse.php?ctype=P&category=5).

If you want your music to sound exactly like it does in iTues, I sugest using iTunes.

it is like a DSP effect,

yes makes sense to use itunes, but now that i have the ipod plugin, itunes is absolutely useless minus this one thing about it like. :) thats why I was hoping i could mimic this sound enhancment effect too. even withought the dsp effects, id still use winamp over itunes on every occasion.

So which DSP plugins have you tried?
Enhancer? Wow Thing? Dee3? DFX? Virtuoso? Arboretum Realizer? etc etc...

Sorry, I've never used iTunes and never will, so I've no idea what you're talking about.
I've never really needed any DSP plugins with Winamp. It sounds awesome enough to me by just using the EQ.

I did try Enhancer, WowThing and Wide & Dynamix on my old system a few years back (around the time of Winamp 2.8x), but I honestly don't need any with my new system (MAudio Revo 7.1 s/c, output via mixer w/ 20-band EQ to hi-fi amp to quadrophonic Mordaunt-Short speakers, and 2nd s/c output to Labtec speaker system).

So basically, you're gonna have to tell us more about what this iTunes sound enhancement thing actually is...

Also make sure you've carried out the recommended DirectSound Output tweaks (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?postid=1212926#post1212926) before applying any DSP/FX.

i will do that thanx, for the sound enhancer, it just makes it like.. hmm 'sharper' every note seems more vivid, it lets you here every sound it seems, you could pinpoint the exact pick movements of the bassist :) its hard to describe..
