Hi,
I am new to this site, and before I pay the 14.95 for pro , I wanted to make sure I can download music on this site. My son has an mp3 player and we are looking for an inexpensive site to legally download music to his mp3 player.
Thanks for your help or suggestions!

Winamp is a music player, not a music purchase system.

Yeah, the $14.99 you pay for pro let's you rip cd's faster, and encode them an mp3 format.

Legal is a very grey area in regards to downloading music.
Personaly, I dont give a damn, I download music using a P2P program, and if I like it a lot I'll go buy the album. If I like it a bit, but not enough to shell out £10 for, I'll keep the song. And if I hate it, it gets deleated.

As long as you don't suffer from russofobia and want to buy music in a smart way (who the hell wants to buy lossy files?) this is the best site

If your new to MP3s you may not be aware you can copy your Cd collection to MP3. This is referred to as 'ripping' That's what Winamp Pro does for you over the free version.
That should get you a head start on the music - I'm sure you have some CDs - right?

Use P2P through a proxy server. I didn't say that though.
I've always wondered about the legal thing myself since if a service can take ten dollars and allow me to download 10,000 songs in a month (Multiple T1's and unlimited downloads) then the artists sure ain't getting any money from it anyhow. So in all honesty I use P2P, just not the mainstream programs. I figure the artist dont get paid or the artist don't get paid - and I can care less about not helping another corporation profit off the backs of the artists.

Yes, I've used P2P, and yes, it sucks. Most of the time though I use www.youcan'tpostthisstuffherewithoughtbreaking therules.com for albums, and theres a link on there that takes you to a site that has all the latest single releases.

don't post links to mp3 download sites.
next offender will be banned.
however, you may go find sites for youself... as long as their not here
i prefer bittorrent for full properly ripped albums or irc. nothing else is really useful to me.
