It would be nice to have winamp be able to play .dat files, such as incomplete download files and things like that.
Also, being able to remove duplicated items in your playlist would be nice.
an option in preferances to remove files that winamp cannot play automaticly would be nice too.

1. If you drag a .dat file from explorer to the playlist window/main window, Winamp will try to play it as if it were an .mp3 file. You can also set a different extension: Prefs > Playlist > 'Assume file extension of unknown files is to be: ...'
2. Already implemented in 5.04 and 5.05 (only works when extended Jump to File support was selected in the installer).
In the playlist editor: Rem > Rem Misc (or Remove... in modern skins) > Remove Duplicate Entries

You can also add ;DAT to the extension list under Preferences > Plug-Ins > Input > Nullsoft DirectShow Decoder > Configure.
