Story (http://www.tmb.ie/exodus/news.asp?id=42214)

I heard this on CNN... 25 homes were destroyed and blasts were felt 20 miles away. The video was incredible.

I feel terrible about the life lost there, but wouldn't have been awesome to be there in person and see that?

I have a video of another fireworks factory (in Germany, I think) going up. Those things are crazy.

I work in a company called ISS Damage Control, we're one of the companies contracted to clean up....

1 fireman is dead

350 families have lost their houses, another 1650 have been evacuated, the fire is under control now though...

I work in the countrywide alarm central, the the people there have describes it as a war zone, 2 ton block have armed concrete have pierced to the roofs of a couple of houses. all windows in an area of aprox 1 km have been blasted out due to the explotions, lots of lamp posts have fallen into the surrounding houses. 11 houses of collapsed from the blast of the explotion, while another 30 have burned down the ground...

it's sick-....

My question is that how the hell does this still happen when there's been at least one or two major fireworks factory fires in the last decade?

Sweet jeebus... I hope the company takes responsiblity and does it's best to take care of the homes destroyed/damaged.

nah, doesn't work that way here....

insurance companies pays everything, home owners are obligated by law to have insurance on their houses...

People who lost their homes, have been assigned to hotel rooms in the surrounding area, and will be allowed to stay there until their houses are rebuild...

Wow, it's a miracle that only one person was killed.

This remembers me of an explosion in Enschede, the Netherlands. 450 homes, 109 bussinesses destroyed. 22 people died (the youngest was only 5 years old). Fireworks stored in containers in a housing estate :weird:

That happened 4 and a half years ago. People are still waiting to get money from the one who is to blame. The lawsuit still isn't closed...

Yes, it really is a miracle only one person was killed in Denmark. Still sick...
