View Full Version : Why no auto-save?

I've found two ways to wipe out unsaved playlists now.

1) Load a file associated with Winamp by clicking/double-clicking on it. This will be loaded in a new playlist, wiping out your old one.

2) (This is even more irritating) Accidentally hit 'New Playlist' instead of 'Save Playlist' while trying to save. Bye unsaved playlist!

I've wiped out unsaved parts of my playlist in both ways now. These could've been avoided if Winamp had asked me if I wanted to save rather than just blitherly overwriting the thing.

I'm using Winamp 5.05 and am scared to do anything, lest I should kill off another part of my playlist.

All the more reason to store your saved playlists in the Media Library.

Note: Playlist "Undo" is already in the wishlist (and has been for 5 years).

Also note, you can circumvent 1) by making "enqueue in winamp" the default action, or using one of the known workarounds (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=183743) to use "enqueue and play" instead (both methods don't overwrite/replace the active playlist).
Not much we can do about 2) though, heh :/
