--- I posted this on a different forum fist, so if any of this post doesn't make sence, that is why ---

I am looking to build a new system for my new car. But first, a little history of what I have had in the past.

--- Fist car: 1990 Dodge Dynasty
--- Got a pioneer cd player from wal-mart. (like most first chance at an install)
--- Just factory speakers in that car.
--- Friend gave me 2 Pyle Drivers (which where in reality Pyle-o-crap :P)
Most of the cracked surround and cone was duct tape. HA HA!
Anyways i think i drove those off of the head unit. HA!
Fiinally gave those away to some one. And got them back 4 months later.
I think i still have one. (with evan more duct tape now.

--- Sold the pioneer, bought a Sony Xplode cd player. WORST MISTAKE EVER
That was the worst cd player I ever encountered.
Ended up selling that to some random person.

--- Second Car 1995 Ford Tuaras
--- Got a Clarion cd/mp3 player.
--- 2 6.5 Pioneers and 2 6x8 Pioneers on a Soundstorm F100.4
The actually sounded very nice and crisp.
--- Got my first pair of subs. 10" Reactor drove off a 400w Profile Amp
Thought i was getting suck sound from them because of the amp so bought
a bigger amp Soundstorm F700.4. They still sounded like crap.
--- Dicthed the Reactor (still sitting in attic) and got 2 Audiobanh 10" entry level
subs on the F700.2
This set-up sounded nice. Not loud but had pretty good sound quality.
--- Brother is buying this stuff off of me now. (except for the Cd/mp3 player)

Now I have recently purchased a 2004 Hyundai Elantra. Nothing spectacular about that, but it was a good price and has that 100,000 mile warrenty. I have a pair of 6x9 Power Accustic 4-way in the rear deck (stock in the doors because i haven't gotten around to it yet) Now I plan to put a serious system in this car. Starting with the Subs the sub amps.

I have been reasearching Subwoofers on the net and this is how i found this forum.

There is a lot of talk here about the RE XXX series of subs. I have looked at the specs of this sub and am fairly impressed. Just no way I can actually hear them though, which sucks. I have also seen the RE XXX are being compaired to the Vega Strokers a lot. Now i have heard one of these subs. 12" Stroker that was installed in a Jeep. Buddy at college had this set up.

Visually I am partial to the RE XXX. But i was trying to find distributers of this sub and can not find any. Should i just contact them directly at www.reaudio.com ?
Or where are you guys buying them at?

I have also been looking for amps that could power the RE XXX (1600 RMS from what i saw). I like Power Acoustik. Therefore I was looking at there class D amps and saw http://www.poweracoustik.com/classD.html (the A2400DB). They claim 1800 watts. Assuming they probably over rate it a little bit, i think it should be enough to drive one Re XXX.

With that, I kinda plan on getting (2) RE XXX and (2) Power Acoustik A2400DB. Running one Sub on each amp. Also plan on getting a custom made box from a local car audio store, and also haveing them seal the space between the trunk and cabin of my car. (The subs would sit in the trunk, face forward then the seal off would go around the face of the box to seal off the rest of the area not covered by the box..... if you get what i mean)

Well anyways, what would you guys think about this kind of set up? Would there be better options?

In summary:
Future subs and amps:
(2) RE XXX
(2) Power Acoustik A2400DB
Custom made box sealing off area between cabin and trunk.

Where would I be able to order the RE XXX subs?
---and---
Any suggestions you may have.

Thanks in advance,
Cheezychops

A few others that might be worth a look (assuming you're after a 12") are the Digital Designs 3512d/9512e, Adire Brahma, Image Dynamics IDMAX12, or perhaps even Boston pro 12.5lf.

Not sure about the PA amps, their gear that's available here in aus is definately entry level, but they might have different product lines in the states.

Another thing, definately sound deaden the boot/hatch area. Hyundai's rattle and resonate really badly. I've done a small install in my '99 excel, there's pics available here that might give you some ideas: http://www.atmodigitaldesign.com/excel/

Yeah, i know they rattle quite a bit. I think i am going to go with just 1 sub and amp now, i am not sure.

What is the trick to sound deaden? I have never actually did it to any of my other cars because i knew i was not going to keep them.
