Mic Problem..I think?!?!

I have been using my mic now for quite some time but recently it doesnt seem to work. There is no input from it at all and I have just bought a replacement and it still doesnt work :S

I have looked at the sound levels in winamp, made sure it is not muted and stereo mix is ticked. I just cant figure out why it isnt working..Is it something to do with winamp or just my PC?

It may be your PC. Are you sure that the rest of your soundcard inputs/outputs are still working?

well i know my outputs working because i can hear sounds e.t.c.

It could just be my soundcard i spose.

If that is the case...would a USB mic work?

Give the USB microphone a try. This can prove or disprove a soundcard issue. Usually, though.. the whole card's fried or it's all fine.
