I guess I ask because I just found out about something I have a few weeks ago.

*********: A noncontagious inflammatory skin disease characterized by recurring reddish patches covered with silvery scales.

Thank god for Dermatop :)

There are more people with that "disease" than you might think. Most of the people suffering that found great way's to hide it.

I know, but I'm still curious :)

No "diseases", but I'm a bit short-sighted, with it a little bad in the left eye, which I've gotten from my dad...

My dad and I (runs in his family) are very uncomfortable in large, noisy, crowded places. I even get edgy going to large McDonald's play land :igor:

There's another one on dad's side (gee, thanks), it's a secondary disease that mimics Rheumatoid Arthritis and is often misdiagosned as such (can't remember the exact name). It pop ups in the late 40's and is degenerative.

I come from pretty healthy stock, though we do have a history of osteoporosis in the women, and my grandmum did have cervical cancer.
(Great.)

Not necesarily odd, but I probably have diabetis.

Whatever.

White Raven
6th December 2004, 02:25
How can you not know if you have diabetes?

squakMix
6th December 2004, 02:25
...I've never been tested for it.

(I'll probably get it later. Both of my parents have grandparents with diabetis, but my parents were the generation that it skipped.)

My mother has MS (very mildly) and she also had cancer.

Incidentally my initials are MS and my astrological sign is Cancer.

Alcoholism runs in my family.

Uh, let's see...

Nothing, really. I mean, I have family members with various diseases, but they're all different - every damn one.

diabetes II is usually caused by overweightness, type I is caused by mostly an unknown reason, usually viral during gestation

diabetes usually is not inherited, but predispositions for dev. diabetes

Diabetes on my Dad's side of the family but it seems to have only affected the females (my aunt, grandma, my grandma's sister).

ADD and ADHD on my Mom's side of the family. My brother was diagnosed at age 25 with ADD and put on ritalin and a few of my cousins and their kids also have ADD.

Dads side, Long Q, a heart disorder wherein you brain just stops sending signals to your telling your heart to beat, very hard to detect and the only treatment for it is to, and I'm not kidding, have a mini-defibulater(sp) installed in your chest, luckly, I don't have it, but one of my 2nd cousins kids have it, 2 have died and one has come very close to death,

also ADD/ADHD runs in the family.

Some diseases in my genes: Different forms of cataract, diabetes, lactose intolerance, baldening, asperger syndrome, dyslexia, osteoporosis, problems with blood pressure & colesterol and dementia are the ones that popped up in my head right now.

Right now I suffer from only two of those disorders.

Bi-polar through my mother's side. My great grandmother appears to be a paranoid schizophrenic. Everyone is always out to get her, and she comes up with conspiracy theories each time she finds a cigarette butt outside next to the road.

I think you're being too hard on her! If everyone were out to get ME, I'd probably act paranoid schizophrenic too!

unlike ethan, im small!

i suffer from the asperger syndrome as well, so if i met anyone from the forum, i'd get so closed up you'd have to hold a knife against me to make me talk :D

i dont know if stuttering is a disease, ironically... my brother has it too but the parents dont, so i guess its not a disease

i also am quite sensitive, like, take stuff seriously (like, ill believe you if you say martians will take over the world, heh), and also be offended if you told me you had sex with my sister that i dont have (actually happened with an ex. friend :( )

self disease is that im a big perv, once i "spanked the monkey" while one of my cousins was in the same house, i wasnt in any room since the computer i used was in a hall, she caught me, i could see the surprized face she had and i never saw her again (shes like 20, 21 now)

if i find more ill be sure to post

Let's see, two grandparents have died from cancer (different sides),
one from multiple strokes, and one from a heart attack.

Things are looking good then .
