Help please

Hey in new to the forums and shoutcast, I got everything together last night and it all is working fine. The only problem i have is that when i've had freinds try to listen on there computer they're saying that it sounds like it's skipping, or buffering about every 5 seconds. I can't seem to fix this problem myself any ideas??

You are streaming at 320kbps. This will probably exceed your bandwidth as well as your friends'. Lower the bitrate and the skipping should vanish.

Thanks I lowered it down to 128, don't have a clue if it fixed as of yet though but thanks for the reply =]

A general rule is [bitrate] = [your UPLOAD bandwidth] / [expected listeners]

However this calculation does not included any buffer bandwidth for you on the machine neither whether your listeners are able to receive it skipping free. So in doubt, lower it again :).
