I have a couple questions regarding broadcasting over a lan.

1) can it be done? can you broadcast to other computers across a LAN without using an internet connection?

2) my concern is that i want to broadcast from within a LAN to listeners who are in the same LAN without using any internet bandwidth. is this possible?

thank you. -dan

1 - yes , just open config file from the dnas and keep it private and don't forward your ports in the router config.

2- what internet bandwidth?? if you are not streaming outside of the lan you are only using the lan and not internet.

actually, what do you mean by "open config file from the dnas and keep it private and don't forward your ports in the router config?"

i don't have access to the router config/port forwarding.

if i only give the ip to people within the LAN, that should do it right? or will it still go across the web?

if you are on a lan there's got to be a router that connects those computers to the internet. as long as you don't open ports in that router your broadcast isn't going to leave the lan.
