Is it possible to stream directly from the server without having to use winamp to connect to the server port 8000 and upload?

We are about to set up a station that will be running Linux. We would like to have unattended streams playing while we are at work during the day.

We'd like streams to play from the /content directory (and still be able to use the default stream link http://mydoman.com/listen.pls)

The stream will cycle through whatever is in the content directory.

Is this possible?

If we do a live mix show, then we can connect to the server via the dsp client.

I am also looking for php resources to do display content similar to what friskyradio.com does on their site.

You could use an Xmms plugin to stream a playlist.

No its not possible to stream as if it were live radio purely using the server.

If you are hosting the server on linux, search for sc_trans.

If you're using Windows - winamp is very likely your best option.
