Hi there,

I'm having a problem with a fresh installation of Shoutcast on my fedora dedicated server.

Iv'e sofar done everything according to the instructions (and must say, it seemed an extremely easy install :)), and i'm currently running sc_serv on a dedicated IP over port 8080. It seems to be running fine, and is just sat there waiting for a connection.

However, when I attempt to access the IP and port in a web browser (both FF and IE), they do not load the page. I have also tried accessing it via Winamp in which I receive a time-out error.

Iv'e taken my firewall fully down while i'm attempting to test shoutcast out. Iv'e also tried it over a few different ports, and different IP's.

Shoutcast looks like it's running fine when you start it via SSH, it just seems inaccessable.

Any ideas of anything that could be wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much,
Shockuk.

Sorry:

Problem solved.

In the instructions, after starting the server, I used Ctrl+z to hide the server's status.

Didn't realise you had to type bg to keep it running.

Thanks,
Shockuk.
