No, some people think that they can get away with it (and do until it gets edited) and still think posting will get them listeners (never does) and really care less about the rules because rule breakers never get banned and come back to do it again a few weeks later.

the problem is that bans would do no good because usually the offender registered for the sole purpose of advertising and walking away. If someone is a serial offender or crossposts their shit everywhere then we take that course of action, but a single one time infraction is generally not something we ban for.

Yes, it is annoying, but what do you expect, this board commands a fairly sizable audience so the temptation will always be there.
