Alright,

I assuming this question has been asked many times before and I shall be ever flamed for asking but:

I use ShoutCast on both Windows and Linux. In windows I love the fact that I can queue up my own playlist and can control it. In Linux it is all random, I have no choice over what is played and to skip a song it takes a good 15 sections (kill -WINCH <pid>). Is there a plugin for XMMS or a similar app to give me the same functionality as windows?

Thanks

Well, you might fin a simple solution...
It's name is WINE (a free windows emulator for linux);
This is the way that i broadcast whatever song I want...
And it work just fine and dandy =)
If wine doesn't do the job, then doo a google search for CrossOver (it's a wine on steriods that allows much more than wine) If you need more details feel free to write an email to bluevd@gmail.com (state ShoutCast in the subject :)

What program are you running on Wine?

Well, Here's a full list of programs that I run under Wine and CrossOver professional:
Flash MX; DreamWeaver MX; Winamp; Scoutcast Server for windows (although I also run the linux version of ShoutCast server); Maguma Studio; Half-Life 1; Internet Explorer; Notpad :) ; BitTorrent ABC; And lots of other programs... A small advice: if you plan to use programs that are more advanced (like flash mx, or even winamp) I recommend to get bot wine and CrossOver installed on your linux box.Right now I use the linux version of the ShoutCast server, and winamp and its plugin. With a few minor and rare exceptions, it works just as it would on windows. ;) Fell free to ask anything else you'd like at bluevd@gmail.com
