I'm a bit of a n00b so forgive me!

I've managed to get a live webcam (nsvcap.exe) to work and have ripped a programme of a DVD and wish to convert it to .NSV. I read that nsvate is very unstable and doesn't always work, so I've tried it through command prompt. I got it all up so I could configure it, etc. Just when I come to convert it, I get this:

I'm persuming that I then type in:

http://img99.exs.cx/img99/4752/fr23ix.png

First part being what i've typed 2nd being the error message again. How do I then change the frame rate?

I tried: nsvenc /fr=30

but that just came up with stuff in double dutch to me!

I hope I've given enough information, and not being really really stupid...but I probably am! Any help would be much appriciated.

Thanks!

You need to call the /FR right after the nsvenc.

So it'd look like this:
nsvenc /FR=25 test.avi alig.nsv

Thanks, I now get this:

http://img76.exs.cx/img76/1622/end7zi.png

And a file called "alig.nsv" which is 0kbs, this is about 10 minuets later does this mean that it's slowly encoding or do I need to do something else...when I do press enter after typing in the code I come up with the "send error long". This happens with other version of this. Could it be to do with when I installed it one file wouldn't install...could there be something wrong with the download.

That looks right...after it is done encoding it that 0k file should change to the correct file size...the length of the encode obviously depends on the length of the movie and since your encoding at 720*576 I would expect it to go fairly slow. I dont know if it is 'correct' or not, but I usually encode at a smaller size, like 320*240, then use the height & width parameters in the activex control to resize so that it encodes quicker. Most of my files (depending on quality and format of source file...but on average) encode in about half the time of the file. So if it is a 1 hr movie, it will generally ecnode in 30 min or less...usually more like 20 min using a AMD 3000+ 64 bit (running in 32 bit mode until windows gets a decent 64 bit OS with driver support) and a Gig of PC3200 Ram...

Thanks,

This is what I ALWAYS get (look at attachment)...then NSVenc.exe closes...could this be because of when I installed it one file wouldn't extract or something??

All that happens before it closes is that it creates a file called "capture.avi.nsv"?
