i have been using winamp since pre-v1.0 (remember those days when winamp was shareware?). A feature that i've always felt would be a nice, non-obtrusive feature is actually common on a lot of home CD players, called a "Skip" button.
This miraculous little button would not only skip the song you're playing, but delete it from the track listing/playlist. This is great for people who have a lot of songs, and are just previewing which ones they want to hear. It could be something like "shift-b" or "shift->|", since that doesn't do anything. Just something i've been requesting for a long, long time.
Another feature that most CD players have that Winamp doesn't is a Preview or Audition feature, perfect, again for people with too many mp3s. I think at one point the feature was in place, but was removed. Basically, a song would play for a set amount of time (say 10 seconds) and then advance to the next song (activate feature by "Shift-X" or "Shift->". Another added feature would be to have the song fade out before it progresses to the next track "Shift-Ctrl-X" and "Shift-Ctrl->" like on most Sony CD players. Furthermore, why doesn't shift+next/prev already do this, since shift+stop does?
Just my two bux.
