View Full Version : Playback through Hollywood Plus

I (and probably many of you) have a Hollywood Plus MPEG decoder card in my machine. As we all know, MP3 is just the audio stream as used in MPEG-1 movies. So, this card MUST be able to play MP3 files, if presented in the right way.
There would be at least two good reasons to do this:
1. The work load on the processor would be significantly reduced, making it possible to play MP3's while taking part in a Q3A clanwar (or whatever), and, even better
2. Having your MP3 music come from the audio-output of the HW+, so you can plug that into your stereo-equipment, leaving all other pc-related sounds at your pc.

I'm sure there's somebody out there with the skills to make a plugin that does this. I can't imagine being the first person to think of this, so maybe somebody already has made it...

Greetings to all of you,
