View Full Version : Can anyone recommend a good streaming service?

Hi

I run a (very small) radio station on FM here in the UK.

Most of the time we get about 0-3 people listening on line. Some shows - about 2-4 hours out of every week, have a much bigger audience, maybe 30-100 people listening on line.

I've been using Streamguys to relay in the past but it seems a waste when I don't always need those 100 streams - I would rather pay for the bandwidth which is probably about 3-5GB a month.

Is there anyone who can recommend a supplier who can provide a good cheap by-the-MB (or GB) service?

I just committed with a webspace provider so I'm not really looking for my own server package - this is all I want to do with the bandwidth.

Many thanks
Eddie

i use http://www.streamsolutions.co.uk, and can probably come up with the slots you need, ie. low amount for now, more later. They have been great for me, for upgrading, so as you grow, you just get more slots ... might not be what you are after ... worth a look though

Man I'm getting tired of these "reccommend a good streaming service" threads. It seems like just a way to get around the spam/advertising rules to me. I think maybe we should just sticky one of the billion threads like this and just lock any more new ones

@Germ

why not make one sticky thread in the discussion part of this forum like the dj availible thread.

same rules as with the dj thread, post in the forum means edit and lock.
if a streaming service is recommended once other posts spamming the same service should be deleted.

Either that or the post is allowed but all replies must be sent either PM or email to the listener. :)

This whole place is a big mess, no new people can find anything at all. Sadly, I am not a web designer to offer any assistance other than make all the stickies font size 25. ;)
