Hi,
I use WinAmp a lot and I think it's great! However I do have problems listening to MP3s and CD rips which have no gaps between the tracks. I've tried the Gapless output plugin but I still get gaps between some tracks, especially MP3s and Monkey's Audio files (http://mac.terrashare.com). I've taken a good look at the source for the gapless plugin and the Monkey's Audio input plugin and they're effectively doing as good a job as they can.
What we need is a little change in the WinAmp source code, to give the *option* of keeping the output device open between tracks, or inserting pauses of a required length between them. This would eliminate the need for a buggy gapless output kludge and I think would please many many users!
Reckon this is a possibility, Winamp gurus?
With thanks
Matthew
