If I have two or more computers linked by a LAN, I'd like Winamp to be able to play a shared MP3 in sync on any or all of the systems. This would be useful around the house when I want to listen to the same music in several rooms.

Thanks.

Hey, it's realy easy to realise that !
Install the shoutcast server, and the dsp plugins for shoutcast in winamp than you can stream whit one winamp "station" to your server (whit a high bitrate .... 128 -160 kbps (you will need a fast computer to encode 300 MHz and more & a encoder (xing, frauenhof or the free ones))+ you can have the shoutcast server & winamp installed on the same computer)
Then you can listen to that stream trough
each computer in your network, you have only to press "STRG + L" and then you have to enter your shoutcast servers ip:port (you can configure the port)... now you are abel to hear sync. music in your network (and you can even allow others to listen to your stream trough the i-net)
