I use a soundblaster 4.1 digital soundcard to broadcast through stereo mix. This card creates a great and loud sound for my station but the only problem is, is that playback skips occasionally which is really irritating. Ive tried all sorts of things to fix it but to no avail. Id like to know what soundcard other broadcasters use, especially budget ones (around £30/$50-$60) that create a great sound like the soundblaster does. I need one that will work on an HP desktop computer running windows pro SP2

just make sure you have the latest drivers for the card or check out the soundblaster forums and they may be able to help you out so you can save a few quid :)

ive tried three different drivers, one that came with the card, one from creative website and a windows driver and they all gave me problems. I also had a lengthy session with creatives technical support that ended up them saying we cant help you. I need another card.

What you need to do is get a Turtle Beach 7.1 Soundcard. Also make sure the soundcard has a EQ. But alot of it depends on what program you are using for your station. I use a nvidia digital sound card as the master for the station and it works great.

Ive now sorted the skipping problem on playback but when my computer starts up the stereo mix volume is set too high even though the volume slider is in the same place.I have to select a different volume and then back to stereo mix to correct it. I run my station as a hobby so i just have a basic setup.I use winamp to play a playlist.I searched on google for turtle beech and nvidia cards. Being stationed in the uk I didnt find any turtle beech in stock from a uk company and didnt find much about nvidia. Has anyone out there found a soundcard that they use for streaming using stereo mix on win xp that works really well with no problems?

What do u think of the audigy LS? It would be helpful to have a card in this price range (£50/$100)that had a microphone gain or would it be better to get a pre amp for the mic? Cant make up my mind whether to just go for it and get an LS or keep looking. Its essential that it works with win XP SP2. The soundblaster i have now is having probs with my HP Desktop PC running either XP or 2000

You need to make sure that u get a card that has a built in eq so you can make the hardware do all of the processing. Thats why i use dual digital sound cards for the station. Sev what program are u using to run the station. If you u are using DRS 2006 u cant use the audigy 2 cards with the program.
