Make it a real mini browser, not just a bunch of links.

yup, the minibrowser is a waist of space at the moment. It needs better options for browsing if it is to be used by anyone.

Get rid of the minibrowser - it just makes Winamp "Bloatware"... http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
If you want to surf the web use a proper browser

Yeah Winamp for the most part is a very
streamlined program unlike other programs...
I won't name names...SONIQUE.
They should really find a good use for the
minibrowser or eliminate it. Or better yet,
transfer the skinned window it uses into
the window for displaying CD album covers http://forums.winamp.com/ubb/smile.gif

The mini browser might actually have some good uses with new features in CDDB2 and ID3v2.. both of them support album covers, band urls, and lyrics. it would make more sense for winamp to display that stuff in the minibrowser as opposed to creating yet another skinable window.
http://www.cddb.com/dev/cddb2new.html - some information on CDDB2 and it's capabilities.
http://www.id3.org/frames.html - all of the information that ID3v2 can store in its tags
personally with all that that can be stored, i'd like to see it while i'm listening.

no i don't want another window i just want it to be like a browser. with a back button and all.
why do you want a full featured browser on an audio player? there is a reason why m$ and netscape have internet browsers.. use them.
i dont think that the actual intent of the minibrowser was to surf the web. i think it was suppose to be for showing shoutcast streams.. searching at amazon for more music. and they might have even though ahead to what they could use ti for with id3 and cddb2

There is no reason to have a fully functional web browser on winamp. If you want things all nice, convient and pretty, switch to AOL or something. Just take out the web browser. I agree with the comment about Sonique. The less resources that Winamp takes up, the better.

I am in no way a big fan of the mini browser, but is has its uses, and nobody forces you to keep it open. As for a "real" browser, all they need to do is add a few buttons and and a textbox: they use Internet Explorer for the rendering engine.

I like the mini browser. Uses less resources than a regular browser and its way better than Netscape or Opera. the only thing I want for the mini browser is a way to save bookmarks and open them later.
