I have tried everything that you guys mentioned in this Post (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=116786) but i still get this error:

[yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)

[yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection refused))

So if you have any other ideas please tell me.

Okay - what devices are between your computer and the Internet. Do you have:

1) A router? Make/Model
2) A DSL or Cable Modem? Make/Model
3) Windows XP?

Let's start with these questions. See where we go from here.

Okay - you gave your PC a static private IP also, I assume... so the ports always point to it?

If yes, and you are running both SHOUTcast and Winamp on the same machine, try this test...

Make sure SHOUTcast is up, and Winamp is feeding it MP3s.

Open Windows Media Player, and choose File... Open URL. Enter

http://localhost:8000

Does your station play?

Yes - Router is not forwarding ports
No - Check PC, disable XP firewall, temporarily disable antivirus etc.

Note: Test requires Windows Media Player 9 or higher

Post back with results?

You did exactly what I said above and it opened in Winamp? I'd be surprised if that happened.

What did you hear?

Okay - than you have more work to do on that router. Your SHOUTcast setup is fine.

Some people have a DSL modem/Cable modem, *and* a Linksys (example) router too. Some routers require a reboot after setting up port forwarding also. I would double-check your port-forwarding settings, and reboot/restart the router when done. Hopefully that will get you SHOUTcasting!

Should i choose this option under my port forwarding:

Redirect selected protocol/application to this Home Networking modem.

or this:

Redirect selected protocol/application to IP Address:

?

(Sorry for double posting)

Now Im getting this error:

[main] error opening source socket! FATAL ERROR! Some other process is using this port!

Redirect to IP address - put in the static IP address of the SHOUTcast PC. Reboot modem when done. Restart PC. Launch SHOUTcast before Winamp. Check DNAS log again. If you still get the above error, post here.

The fatal error thing is gone but this has returned:

[yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)

[yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out))

Okay - questions.

1) Did you give your SHOUTcast PC a static IP address?
2) Did you, on your router, forward port 8000 to that static IP address?
3) Did you reboot your router?

Is that th IP that you get when you go ipconfig or is it the one that it tells you on radiotoolbox.com?

dotme

If you run XP, disable the built-in firewall. See image.

That's not an error. That is a listener (maybe you) ending a session. It's okay to post a listen link if you'd like us to test it from outside. http://server:serverport

Up to you, but if you think it works and you've already had a hit from outside, you're good to go. Well done.

For some odd reason my Djs cannot connect :S

dotme
19th May 2005, 12:21
For DJ's to connect, you'll need to go into your router and make the same for Port 8001 that you did for Port 8000. Also in the SHOUTcast config, make sure your source is set to Any.

ctman
19th May 2005, 19:42
The source ip?
