Heys guy, this is probably a dumb question and I have read around but not been able to find the answer, but here is the issue I am having.

I have shout cast on the server, all setup. I have Winamp and the SHOUTcast DSP Plug-In for Winamp 2.x. I can stream music just fine, no issues. I go to Input, switch it from (Winamp Recommended) to Soundcard Input. Now as soon as I do that, the Push to Talk button comes up. I've got the mic plugged in, but as soon as I do the switch over from Winamp to Soundcard Input, the music cuts off totally, no mic, dead silence. Any help? Appreciate the help and I'm sure this has been asked before, just couldn't locate the thread.

do a forum search on the keywords -- stereomix or what you hear

you need to adjust your os volume settings and make sure you use encoder and output 2 ( encoder 1 has a little bug)

did you adjust your volume settings???

if you have your OS volume settings at zero than it cuts right off.

Again here we go with a stupid question, I went to "Open Mixer".... they are all set correctly, but they move automatically when I click Press To Talk. How do I going about editing them to "SteroMix" Sorry man, I'm an absoltue idiot with this stuff and I really appreciate your help this afternoon!

WinAMP does not handle switching between modes well -- either use one or the other, but don't switch between them.

Yes -- you lose title streaming when you switch to soundcard, but you also have to make sure that you have your RECORD mixer configured properly -- it's not as easy as a playlist, so take the time to play with mastering soundcard input -- you have to set every level manually just like the big boys.

Open the Windows output mixer -- Options/Properties/Adjust levels for RECORDING --- this "new" mixer will have a VU to help you that you must use to select inputs and adjust levels -- your soundcard will determine what inputs are available sumultaneously and how the levels are trimmed.

Just don't get you heart set on switching back and forth betwen SoundCard and WinAMP in a live program, you'll only be frustrated when it doesn't work. The more RAM your source PC has, the less likely this will be problematic, but some soundcards and their drivers can not do it gracefully even with the best PC hardware.

"Open the Windows output mixer -- Options/Properties/Adjust levels for RECORDING " where is this? On Wimap or actual WINDOWS Operating System?

Windows.

I'll add FYI that the Windows Mixers are just the interface to your soundcard's driver. WinAMP does not have a mixer.

Ok, nope, not working one bit... the SECOND you go to Input and change it from Winamp to Soundcard, the music does NOT play. Nothing at all.

than do it the other way around

first put dsp plugin on soundcard mode, load playlist, start winamp. than start server.
adjust os volume settings and take it form there.

Man I've done EVERTHING. I load winamp, the DPS plugin loads. First thing I do is go to Input, switch it from Winamp to Soundcard. Checked all settings, all up as high as they can go. I go to Input/Encoder, set them both at 2, login. We log in, no stream at all, nothing. Now, lets say I had it selected as Winamp insetad of DPS, I could login, play an Mp3, bang, it streams live, no issues at all. Everything looks to be setup just fine....

have you looked if you have the latest drivers for your soundcard?

last option is to use an external mixer

Everything should be fine... any reason why whenever i do the switch, it doesnt work.. or auto shuts the music off?

Current Song: The Game - 12 - Whole City Behind Us Feat. Kanye West & Ludacris

That usually changes, not anymore :(

song title update doesn't work when streaming from the soundcard.
it only works when you use winamp as the setting in the dsp.

if it stays like this and you are streaming other music than you are streaming in soundcard mode.

When in Soundcard mode, the Winamp SHOUTcast DSP doesn't support Title Streaming. However, SpacialAudio's Winamp DSP encoder for SHOUTcast does. I use it and like it a lot.

OK Lets recap, try and solve heh...

Loadin Winamp, the DPS Add On loads as well.

Output - Output 2.

Encoder 2 (Type - Mp3) this can be changed to none as well...?

Input - Sounds and Input - Soundcard selected... Mic button checked...

Login, port 8000, user/pass. It logs in, streams music fine (if I am in winamp mode, not soundcard under input)

That's where we stand... only problem is mic is plugged in, i click the Press to Talk, nothing happends.. and the music wont even play if its in Soundcard mode... weird...

I've checked the Sound settings, Steromix is checked for Recording.

The main issue is going from Winamp to Soundcard in INPUT. GRRRR.
