Good Afternoon all...

Ive been interested in shoutcast radio and streaming for a very long time now, but have never really felt the need to embrace it. That is until now.

I have a couple of questions that i need clearing up before i do embark on my stream, as these have been bugging me now for over a week...

1) How can i stream just images. By this i mean a peice of software is taking of picture of my desktop every X seconds, and i want to stream this pitcure. Kinda like a webcam you could say.

2) If i wanted to in the future, how could i add music to this stream, if at all possible.

I have searched though the forums a fair few times and not found anything, but if anybody can point me in the right direction then i would be very happy.

Thanks in advance

There isn't any way to stream image files directly with shoutcast. You could take a movie editor and make a movie out of slides, but that's your only option.

1.) google camtasia (it's payware)
2.) http://www.scvi.net/audio.htm - Read the part that says Audio From Winamp, Submitted by ken52787

If you aren't married to shoutcast, windows media encoder will stream your desktop activity.....

Thanks for your input.

I have one other question.

I have a piece of software that makes a standard JPEG image. It makes this image every 100ms and can overwrite or make a new image. What do i have to do, to stream this.

Any pointers in the right direction would be very greatly recieved.

Thanks to you all again

I was thinking about this and you could use Windows Media encoder to record the desktop.

It will output a wmv file that you could re-encode to NSV. It will record audio along with the desktop actions. And it's a free way to do it.

I think I'm gonna use this myself and record a slide show or something for intermissions.
