Hi, im trying to run this streaming video across our school intranet and naturally our internet connection goes through a proxy server, this is causing problems with the ActiveX controls.

does anybody know of any way that this can be overcome... is there development going into fixing this?

Im trying to use the vp3 mp3 version

Thanks

i think the problem is that you have port 8000 blocked at your school, if you cant access the shoutcast server webpage (http://ipaddress:8000 or whatever), then you won't be able to access the stream either.

Try running it on port 443 and see if that works.

It probably isn't even a proxy server. Port 443 and an RDP hole. not so nifty.

i only use the internal ip address anyway as our broadband is wireless and on a giant LAN for the east of england... so no external ip, shoutcast and nullsoft video work perfectly except that the plugin wont load video, if we were to open up port 8001 - (where i run the dnas from) on our proxy server is it likely to work?

It should work just fine with port 8000 open. That would probably be fine from a security standpoint too. If you are behind a router, you'll have to make sure that the IP gets forwarded to the right computer on your lan.

no i dont want it to work externally from an external ip, i just need to use it over our network, just internally, but there is code in the video codec that stops it from working behind a proxy, even when inside the LAN, i can still use it when i use winamp but not the IE plugin :(

Thanks for this much help anyway
