I've been trying to submit a Skin a whole week.

Since this is my first Skin obviously I made some mistakes.

1. I submited a Skin HoneyBlue on 20.06.2005 I think.
I received notice "Your component submission was rejected - You did not submit a complete skin.
Please skin all main windows then resubmit."
In Regards to Component: HoneyBlue(145383) Mon, 20 Jun 2005 20:06:38

2. I skined a Visualization window and resubmit Skin as HoneyBlue 1.
I received notice "Your component submission was rejected - You did not submit a complete skin.
Please skin all main windows then resubmit."
In Regards to Component: HoneyBlue 1(145412) Wed, 22 Jun 2005 19:40:44

3. I skined a Media Library and Video window and resubmit Skin as HoneyBlue ---- resub.
Few minutes later I noticed a small graphic flaw in Video window,
and corrected it and then resubmit Skin again as HoneyBlue ----- resub2.
Then I received two notices:

"Your component submission was rejected"
In Regards to Component: HoneyBlue ----- resub2(145421) Sat, 25 Jun 2005 22:02:07
and
"Your component submission was rejected - This skin/plugin is a copy of something
already in our archives. If you feel this is in error please contact us."
In Regards to Component: HoneyBlue ---- resub(145432) Sat, 25 Jun 2005 22:03:56

Please help me and tell me what should I do now?
It's a nice Skin and it would be a waste not to publish it.

Forget it, you submitted a RIP, very bad thing to do.

You can't take someone elses skin, change the color and submit it as your own, it just is not done.

Don't even post it on the forum, because it will still be a RIP.

No, go on, post it here, I'd like to have a look at the very least, a screenshot would be sufficient :)

I think the Skin is a RIP if you say you've done the whole job. I didn't. I wrote the Skin is based on the Soundload
Skin (my favorite in WIN98 era)with respect! And I didn't just change the color, please...

No, I'll give you that, you also cleaned out some of the background details.

Behave yourself, you took someone elses work, changed colour, edited a bitmap or two and tried to pass it off as your own, did you seek permission of the original author?

It's not like you borrowed the odd button or slider, it's a wholesale rip off, don't bother submitting it here again, good spot on the part of Wally (or whoever rejected it)

From the submission FAQ

100% straight rips - removed with no qualms.

The second kind of rip is the rip in which someone has modified some tiny aspect of an existing skin (Text colour, background colour, etc.) and submitted it. These changes are fine, and likely look nice, but we do not accept these skins either. They're not your work, and even if you give the author credit, it's not quite fair to him/her. Closely related are those rips where someone has found a skin (or skins) they liked, and used it as a base for their own project. (Matra II is a good example of this if you remember it - it used 3 different skins by other authors, and melded them together.) These are usually not published either.

Regardless of how clear-cut a rip is, keep this in mind:

Applying a colour filter is not tangibly improving it. Skinning additional components or fixing co-ordinate bugs would be, and even in bug fix cases, you still may not get published.

Don't really care what your definition of a rip is, that's what we work to here, so like it or lump it.

I'm sorry if you see it this way. I thought tunning is permited if you name the original Skin.
Thank's for definition of RIP. Now I know. :(
