View Full Version : Problem with IE cache

Hello,

Today I ran across a problem with the IE Temporary Internet folder, it won't completely empty when the browser closes even though it's configured in the Advanced tab to do so. Until I installed the latest Winamp version there wasn't a problem with IE but now when WA 5.093 is open the browser won't completely clean out. After closing Winamp the cache works properly again. Is there a setting in the player I'm missing or is it possibly a bug in the program?

Does anybody have an idea as to what setting might be responsible for this problem? It appears the latest Winamp is interfering with the IE browser and so unless it can be fixed I'll have to uninstall it.

I've been unable to find the old version 5.08c, which worked perfectly fine and I should have stayed with it, is there a site where that can be downloaded? Thanks for any help, it is appreciated.

cache maybe used for temp too, so when you clear cache, maybe files are used...

This post belongs in Winamp Support, not Shoutcast Support. Hopefully a mod will come along and move it.

Hi thanks for the response.

There appears to be a bug in the latest Winamp, I've got a dual boot 98SE\XP setup and in both OSs the Temporary Internet Files folder would not empty when the browser closed with Winamp running. It worked fine after shutting Winamp down. I've reverted back to WA version 5.08e and the cache is emptying properly again.
