i dont know much about this whole thing, just enough to get by. i've been trying to create a ban file, and i read through some of the posts here, but it seems the easiest way for me to do this would be through the Admin Login link on my station homepage, http://24.51.110.248:8000/. i went in the sc_serv.ini and hunted around (it looks ugly as hell in notepad, WHY???) but the only thing i could find was an admin password. i changed that, and tried logging in as a few things, sadmin, admin, administrator, superadmin, blah blah blah. what do i need to log in as?

pardon me while i hijack my own thread...heh.

when i have someones IP, is there any way i can message them? for example....if it looks like they're having connection issues, is there anything built into windows that i could use to talk to them?

also, what is this "intro file"? it says its disabled, but i wouldnt mind having an mp3 that plays as soon as anyone joins, just before they start listening. how can i set that up?

also.....if someone wouldnt mind connecting to http://24.51.110.248:8000/ and telling me if everything runs smoothly for them, that would be great. i dont have easy access to another computer, and the only people i know who can connect wouldnt be able to tell me what was really wrong if they tried. i also wouldnt know te right questions to ask. if one of y'all who really knows the system could check it....that would be great. thanks!

yeah, it works. it is running at a high bit rate though. unless you have a nice connection or if its on a dedicated server, i would reccomend lowering it to about 56kbps - 80kbps

yep as above it works but the music is scary :igor:

Server Status: Server is currently up and public.
Stream Status: Stream is up at 128 kbps with 3 of 10 listeners (3 unique)
Listener Peak: 5
Average Listen Time: 20m 46s
Stream Title: The Official DY Radio!
Content Type: audio/mpeg
Stream Genre: metal/industrial/bass
Stream URL: http://www.doomedyouth.org
Stream AIM: darkwaverose
Stream IRC: #doomed on irc.doomedyouth.org
Current Song: Disturbed - Droppin' Plates

as brad says make sure you can cope with that amount of listeners at that bitrate to avoid any buffering, :)

thanks guys. yeah, my connection runs 2.2megabits, and in a month i'll have a t3 connection....so the bandwidth isnt a problem. heh nick, the music is scary? sorry, you were listening to my metal list, i usually have my industrial playing :-P its not quite as scary. its actually pretty a lot of the time.....anywho.

im still wondering about the following:

when i have someones IP, is there any way i can message them? for example....if it looks like they're having connection issues, is there anything built into windows that i could use to talk to them?
