Skipping

The same episodes OVER and OVER again skip for no reason, they work when they're not being streamed but when they are they suddenly skip, and it's only them episodes. I tried encoding and halving the frame BTW but it still gives some purple random pixelated shatters and skips and finishes the episode in 10 seconds.

I really need this to work. I just uploaded new encoded episodes and they also skip!

I had that boggle.. Try 'dumbing down' the stream.. Lowering the bit rate.. Also, if you do not restart the server it will sound 'funny'.. I rose the bit rate and it would play songs in like 30 seconds, sounding like chipmunks, lowering it did the opposite.. Once I resarted the server tho, it 'synced' to the new stream rate, and all was aok....

Well I've done all that....and it still skips, now I'm using new codecs for encoding...

Yeah, that's probably the problem. Some of the Divx, 3ivx etc. codecs are not uniformly implemented. So the stuff you get from file sharing nerworks could be fouled up.

Sometimes they'll play ok, but not encode correctly. One thing that works sometimes is to fix them with VirtualDub. It's a little more tolerant of bad avi's than NSVenc.
