How do I set up an internet radio station??

Hello all

Im brand new to this forum, I already have a website and if possible ide like to encorporate an internet radio onto my homepage.
I have streamed using Shoutcast before but using someone else's server, however I would like to take matters into my own hands and have my own!
So whats the first step? and the second?
Is shoutcast suitable or would this new Livecast be better?

Any tips would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for the help spaceplay, but have you given me the right link? Ive looked through these troubleshooting's and help files but they only tell me about shoutcast, what it does and how to fix common problems..
I just need to know how I get my own webcasting channel on shoutcast and how to set up a player on my website so that it plays my stream.
If your gunna give me a help file can you direct me to a specific one?

you don't get a webcasting channel on shoutcast.

www.shoutcast.com only provides a yellowpage on it's website for stations that stream with the nullsoft software.

if you had take a closer look at the sticky thread , it would have guided you to the shoutcast FAQ thread , once there you would have found TWO links to setup guides
