im using the 205 router and have been streaming with it for quite a while,but i now need to connect to a seperate server on a different port and have no idea on what the settings may be to put in the vitual server settings within the modem. i tryed changing the port settings to the servers port
ie: rule id 58, dest 192 168 1 3 port 8030
has any 1 got any idea on were i am going wrong

This is a 205 !!
Bottomline
be a bit more specific when you ask something, a 205 can be anything!

Telnet is what you need.
Start > Run >
telnet 192.168.1.1
log in: admin/admin is default
(the following are very long lines, copy-paste them exactly, I will put ___________ to denote a linebreak where you'll press enter.)
create ipf rule entry ruleid 8030 ifname public dir in act accept transprot eq tcp destport eq num 8030 seclevel high medium low
________________________________________________________
create nat rule entry ruleid 8030 rdr lcladdrfrom 192.168.1.3 lcladdrto 192.168.1.3 destportfrom num 8030 destportto num 8030
________________________________________________________
commit
________________________________________________________
Exit telnet. Don't forget to restart the server.
edit/ You would have more sensible replies if you put I have a BT Voyager 205. Most people here aren't from England and, as you can see, have no idea what you meant. I only do because I have the same horrible router. ;)
